St Neots Living History Festival

St Neots Living History Festival

Free event organised by St Neots Museum on the Market Square. Meet characters from the past and discover the history of St Neots. Attractions include:

  • World War I soldiers
  • Edwardian Suffragettes
  • Napoleonic soldiers
  • Medieval Knights
  • Roman style food to sample
  • Children’s games and craft activities
  • Performances from local dance group Heartsease

The event will take place 11am-4pm.

The Farmers Market will also be trading on the Square the same day, between 8am and 1pm.

Rowing Regatta

St Neots renowned regatta takes place in July every year. The annual event sees rowers from up and down the country descend upon St Neots for a weekend of competitive racing along the River Great Ouse. No rowers are welcome to attend the event as spectators. St Neots Rowing Club organise a BBQ and beer tent each year and there are plenty of stands to browse, selling sporting equipment.

A full programme for the event will be release a month beforehand.

Charity Dragon Boat Race & Festival

Charity Dragon Boat Race & Festival

Dragon Boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today. Up to 10 people paddle each 30′ boat with a drummer at the front beating in time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit.

St Neots Town Council has teamed up with the Rotary Club of St Neots St Mary’s and St Neots Dragon Boat Team for a fifth year to bring this fun, team event to a wider audience, enabling people of all ages and fitness levels to give the sport a try whilst having an enjoyable day out with friends and family and at the same time raising funds for local charities.
Why enter the St Neots Charity Dragon Boat Race?
  • No experience necessary, all ages (16 plus) and fitness levels welcome
  • St Neots provides the premier race venue in the region
  • This is the only charity dragon boat event offering free training sessions for all entered crews

A fun day out is guaranteed for competitors and spectators alike with plenty of bankside entertainment on offer including live race commentary, food stalls, licensed bar, children’s activities and more.

Inland Waterways Festival of Water

Inland Waterways Festival of Water

The Inland Waterways Association, who look after 6,500 miles of the country’s canals and rivers are bringing their annual IWA Festival of Water to St Neots in August 2018, with support from Huntingdonshire District Council and St Neots Town Council.

The IWA Festival of Water brings a free family day out offering attractions both on and off the water. Many boats attend, including leisure, trade, heritage and working narrow boats and a wide range of craft stalls, music, entertainment and activities for children ensure fun is had by all. There will also be a market and fundraising stalls so if you are interested in having a stall contact the Inland Waterways Association.

Highlights of the Festival weekend will include a live entertainment marquee with performances taking place all weekend plus an illuminated boat parade and fireworks display in the evening on Sunday 26 August.
